Who we are
A locally rooted organization, founded by young people of the Jubba regions.
We work with families facing drought, displacement and conflict, and with the young people who will shape what comes next. Communities are our partners, not our beneficiaries.
Since 2013, JYA has delivered humanitarian assistance and development programs in health and nutrition, water and sanitation, food security, child protection, human rights and peacebuilding, always with local leaders, youth groups and women's groups at the table.

Learn moreHow we work
People closest to the problem are closest to the solution.
We build on what communities already know and already have: their leaders, their networks and their ideas.
- Listen first. Communities identify their own needs and priorities.
- Plan together. Local authorities, elders, youth and women's groups shape every intervention.
- Deliver and stay. Emergency help is linked to recovery, livelihoods and resilience.
- Learn openly. Feedback and monitoring keep us accountable to the people we serve.
